The Waldorf Astoria Chicago

You’ve probably heard about the Waldorf Astoria as it’s one of top-of-the-line hotels in Chicago. It’s located in the Gold Coast neighborhood, and you can take it as a perk because you’re within walking distance of the finest restaurants, attractions, and shops. The hotel accommodates 215 rooms that are complete with striking furnishings and exquisite marbled bathrooms. It also offers extensive services and top-notch amenities. Below, we go in-depth of what you can expect when staying in the Waldorf Astoria in Chicago.

You know you’re walking in the most luxurious hotel in Chicago when the lobby amazes you right then and there. Upon entering, you’d be welcomed by a lobby, whose design was inspired by fashion designer, Coco Chanel, and her timeless creations; the eye-catching crystal chandelier that hangs over head was inspired by the designer’s broach. Jim Dine also has a contribution to Waldorf’s grand lobby; his “Venus in Five Colors” work of art gives off a French-inspired couture in the lobby.

Rooms

The Waldorf Astoria has astonishing architecture, with a staggering number of 215 elegant rooms in a 19-storey structure. The rooms are divided into seven categories that you can choose from, according to your preference: Deluxe, Premier Terrace King, Junior Suite, One-Bedroom Suite, Deluxe One-Bedroom Suite, Gold Coast Corner Suite, and Presidential Suite. Each room offers different services and amenities, and some selected ones even overlook breathtaking views like the Lake Michigan, the Gold Coast, and the city view of Downtown.

Bathrooms

Find the time to relax by yourself with Waldorf Astoria’s gorgeous bathroom. It offers you a very spacious room that’s complete with a deep-set marble bathtub and a waterfall shower. It’s adorned with original pieces of art, and soaps are from the one and only Salvatore Ferragamo. For the best experience, the bathroom features adjustable mood lighting, and GET THIS, a TV behind the mirror. We don’t know whose idea was this, but this might actually work. If you’d like to pay extra, you can upgrade to a Grand Deluxe room so that you can enjoy the view from the window right next to your bathtub.

The ultimate relaxation doesn’t stop there, because in the hotel’s fourth floor lies a vast spa area that’s approximately 14,000 square feet. Waldorf aims to provide you with only the best services; from Rachel Zoe’s DreamDay Blowout Salon to its Gym section that has the best equipment and training sessions, we’re sure you’re going to get everything done perfectly! The spa also features steam rooms, sauna, and Jacuzzi in its gender-separated locker rooms, so if those are your cup of tea, feel free to indulge! Additionally, these rooms are complete with infused water, cashmere robes, and specialized branded products that cater to both men and women.

Pool Area

The coolest thing in Waldorf’s pool is its rose-filled bath-esque swimming area. The pool is decorated with Mother of Pearl mosaic roses; these have an iridescent glow, which give you the illusion of bathing on a big rose-filled tub. If you want to try swimming laps, you can do so in the spa’s two-laned and heated pool. If you have a toddler or kid with you, make sure for kid-friendly pool schedules to keep them safe from lap-swimmers.

Dining and Drinking

Help yourself with a feast of delectable French cuisine from world-famous restaurateur, Michael Mina. He has a bakery in the ground floor, named Petit Margaux. On the second floor, he has a brasserie named Margaux. Also on the second floor comes a drinking lounge from Bernard’s Bar. It serves sophisticated cocktail and top-shelf whiskeys as you enjoy the overlooking view of Oak Street.

Services and Amenities

You can also choose to include additional services like flower arrangements and transportations. Truly, the personal concierge is certified to be called as “True Waldorf Service Ambassadors”.

As for the hotel’s amenities, it has TONS! These include multi-lingual staff, 24-hour in-room dining services, WiFi all throughout the building, business center area (where equipment like computers, printers, and fax can be used), great selection of newspapers (Wall Street Journal, USA Today, and Chicago Tribune), laundry and dry-cleaning services, and more!

Destination Guide

Once again, the services of the True Waldorf Service Ambassadors are used in this hotel functionality. If you’re wondering about where you should go for the city’s famous deep-dish pizza, talk to their concierge because they’ll surely direct you to the perfect place.
